He joined the army at 16 and went into the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. His basic training was at the Army Apprentice School at Arborfield in Berkshire where he joined the unit pipe band learning to play the pipes and producing his first tune on them within two months. He rose to the rank of Apprentice Pipe Major in his third year. He travelled the worlD and when given the opportunity he played with regimental bands and the Royal Ariforce Band in the far east. He has been playing the pipes now for thirty five years and has a good repertoire of tunes and styles.
He performs at weddings, funerals, dinners and parties playing a range of music from traditional to 'pop' with country and western thrown in when the occasion demands.
To help individual budgets and locations he has several Scottish outfits from pure day wear to full highland dress with three different tartans, this way he can give cllients the effect they'd like for their particular occasion.
He currently plays with the City of Rochester Pipes and Drums and has been pipe sargeant for the Kent Police pipe band.
